"When a person leaves this world – all that remains is the good they’ve done in it."

Some lives are short – but their legacy lasts for generations.
Such was the life of Captain Eran Elkaoui z”l, a brave warrior and beloved commander, who fell in battle in Lebanon at far too young an age – yet managed to leave behind a trail of values, inspiration, and endless giving.

From this profound loss, my younger brother Sharon Elkaoui founded Chasdei Eran – a nonprofit dedicated to continuing Eran’s path: to do good. To help. To give. Without ever asking for anything in return.

It’s important to stress: the organization has been operating since 2008 entirely on a volunteer basis – no salaries, no payments, no compensated management. Behind every project, donation, or activity stand ordinary people, driven by love for IDF soldiers and the people of Israel – and the unwavering will to carry on Eran’s legacy.

Leaving a Legacy of Kindness – Even After You're Gone

A bequest or will to Chasdei Eran is far more than a donation.
It’s a profound statement by a person who believes in values. Who believes in goodness. Who believes that even in death – one can still give life: a life of dignity, warmth, and hope to others.

Through your will, you can:

Honor your name or the name of a loved one through a meaningful project.
Support lone soldiers, the wounded, bereaved families, and those in need of light.
Uphold the values of giving, love of the land, modesty, and purpose – just as Eran lived and fought for.

Why Chasdei Eran?

Because it’s a real, modest nonprofit – born out of grief and transformed into love.
Because every shekel and gift is transferred in full to support IDF soldiers and social projects of help, remembrance, and pure giving.

Because the people behind this organization aren’t seeking profit – they seek impact.

As then-IDF Chief of Staff Ehud Barak wrote of Eran:
“I discovered a revered commander who always strove for excellence.”
And so do we – humbly – continue to pursue that same moral and ethical excellence through this organization.

How to Include a Bequest?

To ensure your gift reaches its destination and supports the causes closest to your heart, please include the following in your will:

You may bequeath: a sum of money, a percentage of your estate, an apartment, land, car, jewelry, pension funds – anything your heart wishes to give for good.

In addition, we’re here to talk with you, assist with sensitivity, and help ensure your will is written legally and aligned with your personal wishes.

Choose Your Legacy

You may choose how your bequest will be used:

Scholarships in your name for lone soldiers
Base projects (clubs, equipment, synagogues)
Donations to those injured in service
Or any other social initiative that reflects your spirit

This is not just a donation. It’s a legacy.
It’s love.
It’s good that lives on forever.
